What will you do?
You will join a multidisciplinary team where you will plan, improve and develop tools that allow us to provide solutions, always putting the customer at the center.
In Holaluz you will grow, learn and also help to grow. Everything is a challenge in Holaluz right now!
We also expect from you to contribute to the development of presentations, materials, and other strategy-related documents to be shared both internally and externally.
And #SayThingsAsTheyAre is one of our values, we want to be clear and transparent in explaining what you will do during your first 6 months at Holaluz.
In 1 month:
After the first month you will know how everything is set up, you will have mastered our culture and know the vision of Holaluz, you will have met with all stakeholders and you will know what they need.
You will have done 1o1 with the people in your team and understood their needs, fears, objectives... as well as their interests and motivations. You will have participated in meetings with other Engineering Managers to share tools, doubts, advice...
You will have gone to lunch one day with people from the team, you will have attended a Tech Show and Tell (weekly internal event to flow ? knowledge), a Lean Code (biweekly internal event to discuss topics proposed by the attendees themselves), and a Book Club (technical book club).
In 3 months:
You will have had several 1:1s with your manager to find out how you feel in your first months at Holaluz and help you grow based on your interests.
Im sure you will have already made many decisions on how to bring value to your team and you will be working side by side with your colleagues on how to generate more impact and connect people to green energy ??.
You will have enjoyed some team building with the team and you will already know the names of some people from other teams.
In 6 months:
You will have (almost) everything under control and you will have contributed to the maturity and growth of your team. You will have contributed value beyond it by sharing knowledge and getting fully involved in continuously improving it.
How will you do it?
One of our values is #KeepRowing, meaning that teamwork and team alignment is essential to be able to move forward and meet our shared objectives.
At Holaluz we have built a robust and constantly iterating organisational system, which allows us to adapt to the constant changes demanded by the sector and to achieve the purpose we pursue, using various methodologies, including SCRUM. At Holaluz, meetings and decisions are made collaboratively, feedback flows ? between the different teams and support between people is promoted.
What do we have?
At Holaluz we work with multidisciplinary teams, working closely with the product team and purpose-driven.
Our systems are stable and we do several daily deployments without fear because it is tested and automated in Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Our infrastructure is in code with version control and each team is responsible for maintaining their own. We will help you to have the infrastructure resources that your team needs every moment.
Finally, we work with Best practices, such as Solid principles, hexagonal architecture, TDD, DDD and Agile methodology (Kanban). We always test our code with unit, integration and acceptance tests.

Within the great Technology team, we have teams by purpose. In your case, you will be part of the Solar team. The wonderful and fascinating thing about this area is that everything is to be done! Can you imagine being able to improve the world from 0?

Where will you do it?
Another way of #KeepRowing is rowing all together in perfect synchronisation and towards a common goal, and what a better place to do it than in our offices in Barcelona, just 200 metres from the sea ?. This exceptional location next to the beach is perfect for a break with a dip and to put into practice another of our #HaveFun values.
But since March the number of "Holaluz offices" has multiplied by 260, everyone has their own little Holaluz, with their sea views (or not), their coffee or tea machine, their open space for lunch, their meeting rooms (now with a little more availability), and also their routines and organisation. We are committed to individuality and flexibility by putting people at the core of our decisions, thats why our offices are open for those who need or want to work in them. We are working on flexible seating in the office and providing individual lockers for everyone, as well as adapting all the meeting rooms so that we can make better video-conferencing and continue to work as comfortably as possible from home or from the office.
Requirements
What do we need?
Some seniority working as Backend Developer ?.
We build solutions for our clients using Java and Kotlin, and sometimes we struggle with legacy PHP. In addition, we are autonomous to deploy our applications and infrastructure on AWS using Terraform. You dont need to know all this tech stack, but you do need to be interested in learning about it :)
You care about code quality. We consider QA a skill and not a role.
You have an interest in Extreme Programming and methodologies that allow us to deliver value as quickly as possible to our customers.
You are a mature, creative, flexible person and you like Rock & Roll ?.
You like to stay connected and play ?. Within our team we work with platforms that help us to make telecommuting more enjoyable and fun.
