We are looking for a Robotics Research Engineer – Mechatronics to join our team in Canary Islands, (SPAIN) .
Tasks to be performed:
Identification of main requirements and key drivers for the mechanical architecture of a robotic system.
Participate in multidisciplinary reviews and liaise with other teams to work on interfaces and deliver integrated systems.
Design of detailed CAD models and assemblies.
Design electronics interface documents.
Carry out mechanical and thermal simulations both for mechanical structures and electronics integration.
Collaborate with the SW team on firmware programming for electronics integration or testing setups.
Research into new technology and investigating ways of incorporating this technology into robotics.
Participate in agile planning meetings and contribute to the agile-based work management tools.
Contribute to the internal and external documentation of the Project.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
Studies in the field of Electrical/Electronics Engineering or relevant PhD or Master’s degree.
Hands on experience on the integration of mechatronic devices, particularly -but not limited to- multiDOF robots.
Strong knowledge in the field of mechanica design and thermal management.
Experience working with CAD tools such as NX, Solidworks or similar tools.
Knowledge in the use of simulation tools such as ANSYS, Matlab, Comsol or similar SW tools.
Ideally some experience programming basic electronic components such as motor drivers and control boards.
General knowledge on interface control between mechanical and electrical systems. Experience in wire and harness design is a plus.
You must enjoy working in a research-oriented environment.
Experience working with agile methodologies is desired.
Basic understanding of mechanics, electronics and software, and its role/impact in complex systems and their control.
Data-driven, analytical mindset. Open to challenges.
Detail-oriented person, with experience working in agile development environments, especially when focused to product hardware development.
