About the Role
As an Operations Manager Surety EMEA, you will ensure the delivery of operations services for Surety clients in Germany, UK, and Italy. You will manage service levels, prioritize team tasks, engage with multiple business stakeholders, and support internal and external customer queries. In our dynamic and evolving environment, you will be an advocate for change, motivating teams to join our journey.
Main activities: * Delivery of operations services:
Drive seamless service delivery in Trade Finance, Commodity Trade Finance, and Project Finance sectors.
Ensure service delivery within agreed SLAs, meeting or exceeding KPIs.
Organize and resource teams with adequate skills.
Make decisions based on data and facts.
Endorsing continuous improvement:
Implement efficiency improvements across underwriting support and technical accounting.
Collaborate with the operational excellence team for global process harmonization.
Participate in project work and tool development.
Develop, document, implement, and maintain processes and tools.
Provide subject matter expertise to team members.
Leadership responsibility:
Be a hands-on leader and driver of change.
Coach, monitor, and develop talents.
Attract and retain talents by evolving employee development plans.
Deliver creative solutions to challenges while remaining practical.
Ensure continuous upskilling.
About the Team
Operations is a reliable and efficient global organization closely collaborating with business teams. With passion and customer orientation, we strive for high customer satisfaction and enable the business to achieve its profitable growth aspirations. Day-to-day, we process surety transactions, handle bonds and guarantees, premiums, and fees accurately and on time.
About You
You are a self-motivated, energetic individual with experience in surety or guarantee business and leadership. You have a proven track record in end-to-end operations management, technical accounting, and people development. You are structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable dealing with different counterparts and cultures.
Position requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the banking or insurance industry, with in-depth knowledge of products, systems, and processes within surety or other risk participation structures.
Experience with products and processes within surety or guarantee business.
Proven track record in end-to-end operations management with in-depth knowledge in technical accounting, including handling of premiums, fees, commissions, and invoicing.
Passionate about people development and talent management.
Basic knowledge in surety regulatory and compliance topics, including legal and tax-related topics.
Language skills: German and English fluent written and spoken; other European languages are an advantage.
Strong service and client-oriented mindset.
Desired qualifications:
Masters or bachelors degree preferably in Insurance or Banking.
Additional certification like CSDG in guarantee business is a plus.
For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
the applicants own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
