About this job:

As Government Affairs & Market Access Director, your main role is to make sure that prescribers and patients have rapid and continuous access to our medicinal products through the approval of their prices, and by demonstrating their value to the Healthcare Authorities and identifying the needs to maximise the commercial success of Astellas, fulfilling the company’s Compliance policy at all times.

Also, this role’s mission is to guarantee the fulfilment of the applicable regulations in pharmaceutical questions, both with regard to the company’s activities and the products, likewise observing the Company’s policy.

This position will supervise fulfilment of the legal requirements to obtain the marketing authorisation for new products and guarantee the maintenance of Astellas’ product marketing authorisations in accordance with legal requirements and the company’s internal requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • To manage all the activities related to price requests and reviews of Astellas medicinal products, define the local price strategy in accordance with the Company’s policy and negotiate the price and reimbursement of Astellas products with the Healthcare Authorities.
  • To fulfil the requirements of Global with regard to internal procedures, the reporting of information to Head Offices and transmitting of the local needs of the Regulatory Affairs, Price and Market Access Departments, and participate in Task Forces at European/Global level in matters relayed to their speciality.
  • To supervise the regional plans of each Autonomous Community and the access plans of our products, as well as their implementation.
  • To supervise the territorial management of actions and clients, including negotiations and procurement procedures with the public Administration with a view to positioning products optimally in accordance with the company’s strategy.
  • To supervise the conduct of activities and programmes with the liaison persons of central and autonomous community healthcare organisations with a view to promoting and consolidating institutional relations.
  • To establish and maintain relationships with the person responsible for pharmaceutical affairs in the Central and Autonomous Administration.
  • To analyse the new legislative measures related to pharmaceutical matters and which govern access to the market and to advise the General Direction and the other company Departments of the impact they may have on Astellas products.
  • To approve the revision of the promotional materials generated by the Marketing Department and to guarantee fulfilment of the related legal requirements.
  • To supervise the effective management of the budget assigned to the area in order to make sure that the different activities and initiatives established are conducted.
Knowledge and experience:
  • Proven experience in related activities of Regulatory Affairs or Market Access.
  • Solid knowledge of Regulatory Affairs Business, Structure and operation of National and Autonomous Healthcare Institutions and Administrations in regulatory and quality affairs.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Degree in Health Sciences, preferably Pharmacy
  • Master’s degree is valuable: Master in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Industry, MBA, etc.
