The EU Process & Systems Engineering (PSE) Team is seeking a customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer with strong analytical and technical skills to drive performance measurement, innovation, and execution in Fulfillment Center Operations. Collaborating closely with Amazon Operations and data teams, you will be responsible for developing analytics dashboards, deep-dive tools, and influencing product roadmaps using data, AWS services, and other insights sources.
Key job responsibilities
- Translate customer and business opportunities into innovative BI solutions, and demonstrate a passion for working with extensive datasets to drive data-driven decisions and build models that address critical questions for our stakeholders.
- Manage intake, coordinate and gather requirements from business partners to handle increased data volume and the demand for more cost-efficient and scalable data pipelines and tech solutions.
- Prioritize initiatives, design and implement technical solutions with appropriate strategies and design principles.
- Identify, design, and create data pipelines to feed BI tools and dashboards.
- Identify and develop metrics and KPIs, and translate them into insightful dashboards using BI tools (i.e. QuickSight).
Amazon is seeking Business Intelligence Engineers to work in the Process and Systems Engineering (PSE) team. The PSE team is a group of operational leaders driving process innovation, stabilization, standardization and continuous improvement for all the fulfillment centers (FC) in EU, especially focusing on Amazon Robotics FC Network. This team is essential to establish best in class network performance across all performance paths, accelerate implementation of technology advancements, and to strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge for the operational leaders across the FC network. As we continue to rapidly grow our FC footprint and infuse the organization with new talent, we need to ensure the Operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to successfully deliver expected gains for technology advances and network-wide process improvements.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Madrid, M, ESP
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
